The police are on the hunt for a rapist who allegedly raped an elderly woman at the dumping site in Odendaalsrus.
The incident happened last year in December 12, where a 53-year-old woman was at the dumping site collecting scrap steel and plastic when she was attacked from behind by unknown man who threatened her with a brick and a broken Savanah beer bottle before he raped her.
“The elderly woman was forced to the ground and raped, the suspect jest walked away after the rape ordeal,” detailed Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng.
He said at the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black wool hat, white All Star tekkies and blue Jean trouser.
The victim told the police that the suspect’s right eye had an injury, had big eyes and the dreadlocks.
Thakeng says the police were then able to draft an Identikit of the suspect.

A case of rape was registered, however, the suspect has been on the loose until this end.
The police pleads with the community to assist in tracing the alleged rapist.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact detective warrant officer Mandie Jacobs of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit at cellphone number 082 490 6455 or to contact the police crime stop number on 08600 10111,” added Thakeng.
