The South African National Defense Force (SANDF) has announced the names of the soldiers who were killed and injured in a mortar incident in DRC on February 14.
The names of the deceased are; Captain Simon Mkhulu Bobe and Lance Corporal Irvin Thabang Semono.
“Both soldiers were working at one o’clock South African Infantry Battalion, and were deployed with two South African Infantry Battalion when they met their untimely death. The three soldiers who sustained injuries are still in hospital and remain in good condition” says SANDF acting spokesperson Selina Rawlins.
The Ministry of Defence and Military Veterans, has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
SANDF is yet to announce the details of the memorial and funeral services of the deceased.
