Naked body of Virginia man found burnt, partially decomposed in a bush

The Virginia police are probing a case of murder after a man’s body was found burnt and partially decomposed in a burning bush in Virginia farm.

According to the police, they were summoned to the scene at an open veld where the body of the deceased was discovered by residents.

“On August 24, at about 1:30pm the body was found half naked and partially decomposed, the face was not clear and it seems he caught fire as the body was found there,” says police spokesperson in the region of Lejweleputswa, captain Stephen Thakeng.

Thakeng says although the body was burnt beyond recognition, the police found an identity document inside the deceased’s pocket and was identified as Mpumelelo Happyness Ngomba aged 23-years-old.

He added further that, according to the preliminary investigations, the police couldn’t trace relatives of the deceased despite their efforts even at the department of home affairs.

“Thus the deceased is currently unknown, a case of inquest has been registered for further investigation,” he said.

Anyone with information to trace relatives of the deceased is urged to reach out to detective sergeant Mpembe at 065 8940 527 or to contact the police’s crime stop number on 08600 10111.

Relatives are sought and the body of the deceased is still kept at a government mortuary.
