The Virginia police are on hunt for arsonists, after a house in Virginia was burnt to ashes by two unknown men who were driving two vehicles, and fled the scene following the arson.
According to Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng, the tragic incident happened yesterday, 22 May, at about 01:00, when the house owner alleged to have heard people talking outside his home, and peeped through the window.
It is alleged he noticed two motor vehicles and many people surrounding his house aggrieved with anger.
“There was a shout from a lady that they are going to kill him and doors were kicked,” Thakeng says.
“The complainant (victim) managed to to exit the house using a bedroom window and one of the suspect saw and gave chase. Several shots were fired in his direction but missed him.
“When he was still in the nearby bush and he could see when the kitchen was set alight and the next moment the entire house burnt to ashes. The two vehicles drove off,” he adds.
Thakeng said the incident was reported Virginia SAPS and a case of arson was opened.
While suspects are still at large, residents are urged to assist the Virginia police to traces the arsonists.
