Thabong police launch probe after two people found dead in burnt home

Two people were found dead after their home caught fire and burnt down in Thabong on Tuesday morning.

The Thabong police received information about a house that was burning in Oppenheimer Park,Thabong said Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng.

“At about 03:00 the tenant was asleep when he was awoken by a smoke in the house.

“Then he managed to scream for help and break the burglar on the window to assist his fiancée to jump through the window,” said Thakeng.

“The tenant (Joseph Molala), also escaped the house with flames through the same window,” he added further.

The two other people who burnt to death inside the house were named as Tshitso Neo Bulane (48) and Mpai Matsoha (33).

Relatives of the two deceased were informed about the incident.

“The cause of the fire is currently unknown and investigation continues,” Thakeng said.

“Cases of murder, inquest and arson have been registered for further investigation,” he added.
