Aggravated citizens lambasts KZN Premier, Sihle Zikalala on Twitter

South Africans took to Twitter to express their deep concerns, after KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Sihle Zikalala tweeted that he had to evacuate his family from their home in La Mercy during the floods that occurred in some parts of the province this week.

The heavy rains started pouring on Friday last week, causing severe damage to infrastructure across the province, especially in the eThekwini region.

Earlier last week, South African Weather Services (Saws) has issued warning of possibilities of storms in KZN over the weekend.

“I worked until late midnight (Saturday) on evacuation of people from floods,” said Zikalala

“Later I found that I had to be evacuated as all roads has been washed away,

“ But this could haven’t happen without  prayers of Nelly Zikalala,” he said.

Zikalala said 190 people were evacuated from Tehuis to the SJ Hall on Saturday evening.

Many people couldn’t hold back their words, as they lashed out on the KZN premier for failing residents.

They said that doesn’t make any difference as there’s no service delivery such as drainage systems in most parts in the province.

It was only a few that were impressed with Zikalala’s evacuation process.

One tweeted “Lokhu okwenzayo ukwenza esilungwini iza ebantwini , iba uhulumeni wabantu abasokolayo,”

It means that Zikalala only help rich people, he must come to government people who are poor.
