Following the brutal murder of a 22-year-old woman, three suspects will soon appear before Welkom Magistrate Court for their alleged involvement in the case.
On Monday, 17 January 2022, Thabong Crime Prevention arrested duo women after receiving information regarding their whereabouts, for their alleged involvement in a woman’s murder at a night club in Dagbreek, Welkom.
The victim was at her place of work on Saturday, 08 January 2022, when a group of people horrifically murdered her.
Members took the first two arrested suspects to Welkom Detectives. Upon interrogation, information regarding the third suspect, who is also believed to be the mastermind behind the murder emerged.
Trio suspects of two women (23 and 29) and one male (25) will appear before Welkom Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 19 January 2022.
Free State Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, applauded members for their effort in arresting suspects.
“Their swift reaction and determination surely paid off as trio suspects will soon have to account for their alleged actions. Gender Based Violence is a major concern for the police and we will ensure that perpetrators post for their crimes,” said Lieutenant General Motswenyane.
