The murder suspect, Linda van den Heever will remain behind bars, following the brutal murder of the Welkom’s famous lawyer, who was fatally shot while in his office.
According to an issued statement by the Welkom police, it is believed that, the deceased apparently had an argument with his ex-wife Linda van den Heever and he was shot and killed on the scene.
“A 58-year-old woman was arrested after a manhunt by members of the investigation team and Welkom Flying Squad led by lieutenant colonel Mokhethi Khapola,” read the statement.
She was tracked at a flat in Hennenman, and she was found in possession of a firearm that was allegedly used to commit the crime.
“The murder weapon was seized and kept as exhibit,” portion of statement read.
The police said the suspect will remain in custody, as her case has been postponed for medical assessment.
She faces charges of murder and being in possession of unlicensed firearm.
