Boyfriend finally arrested following brutal murder of woman found with ‘throat slit’

Winburg: The 28-year-old man was arrested by the police on Thursday, 19 August 2021 for the alleged ruthless murder of his girlfriend.

This follows an incident on the 13 May 2021 at about 13:00 when the suspect went to report a hijacking incident at Winburg SAPS.

He alleged that he was attacked by two men alongside the road about 4km from Winburg to Senekal, where he was driving with his girlfriend and baby boy, and they drove off with his girlfriend.

“Later on, the body of a 24-year-old Nnini Pule from Hennenman was found inside the boyfriend’s vehicle with her throat slit,” issued statement read.

After thorough investigation by Winburg Detective Sservices’ Warrant Officer Dingtekane Mothibi, two suspects, Mojaki Phara (24) and Sebongile Soul (26) were arrested on the 14 August 2021 in Theunissen and appeared in the Magistrate Court on the 16 August 2021 and their case was postponed to the 20 August 2021 to seek and consult with Legal Aid lawyers.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the deceased boyfriend on Thursday in Phomolong Hennenman.

He will appear before Winburg Magistrate Court on Friday, 20 August 2021 with the other two accomplices.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane welcomed the arrest and appreciated the diligent work of the investigating officer in uncovering the truth behind the senseless killing of a bright young woman.
