Mafube SAPS arrests a man in connection to a house robbery reported on Monday, 20 September 2021 in Frankfort.
Suspected house robber was arrested on the same day of the report. His arrest followed a complaint by a 7-year-old pensioner residing in Namahadi.
The complainant alleges, at around 13:30, an unknown man entered her house while she was sitting in the kitchen. She further alleged that the man proceeded to open open cupboards without saying anything. Strangely, the suspect headed to the dining room and the complainant followed him.
Upon her arrival to the dining room, the old lady alleges the man grabbed and tied both her hands and feet with electric cords. Furthermore, the suspects allegedly beat her up with with fists in the face and pulled her by the throat.
It is further alleged that the suspect took with him a black plasma TV valued at R2 500; an amplifier valued at R150; and some other loose items .
The suspect left the complainant tied in the house until a neighbor found and untied her. Other neighbours were alerted and the police were informed.
“I followed information posted by the elderly victim’s children on Facebook and it helped with tracing the TV,” stated Detective Sargent Johannes Tshabalala of Mafube SAPS. “I went to an address and found and confiscated the TV, and the male suspect was arrested,” he added.
The suspected house robber will be charged with House Robbery. He will appear before Frankfort Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 22 September 2021.
