Manhunt launched after robbery at filling station in Winburg

Manhunt is under way after brazen robbery at a filling station when two suspects held the employees hostage at gun point in Winburg.

According to SAPS, the Caltex filing station employee was counting money, when the armed suspect pointed her with a gun.

On Monday, 08 November 2021, the complainant, Justine Cloete (31), was counting money at Caltex filling station office when a suspect pointed her with a firearm. An undisclosed amount of cash was robbed.

The armed robber wanted more money but Cloete responded that was the only cash available. The alleged robber then took her cellphone, but Cloete pleaded that he returnes it and the suspect did.

The second unarmed suspect searched the petrol attendants inside the kiosk.

Duo suspects fled the scene on foot.

Cloete reported the incident to Winburg SAPS and police register a case of Business Robbery for further investigation.
