Four employees of Lewis store were pointed with firearms and robbed cash and valuable commodities on Saturday morning in Winburg.
According to an issued statement, it is reported that the store manager and three employees were at work to serve their clients when four unknown African men entered the business premises.
“They drew firearms, as three were armed and the fourth never had a mask on and they had pepper spray with Police Emblem,” read the statement.
“They were pepper sprayed and the suspects demanded the safe keys.
They were forced inside the safe, and the suspects stole cash, plasmas tv sets, laptops and electrical appliances.
“During this armed robbery it was raining heavily, the get away car could not be seen as there were few people at that time even because of the rain,” statement further read.
The Winburg police has launched a manhunt to locate these armed robbers.
A case of business robbery has been registered for further investigation.
