Police hunt five suspects after Boitumelo Junction’s KFC restaurant was robbed at a gunpoint!

Thabong – Police have launched a manhunt for five suspects who robbed KFC restaurant in Boitumelo Junction, Thabong at a gunpoint and fled with undisclosed cash on Saturday evening.

It’s alleged that, at about 18:50 the store manager was busy inside business premises, when he heard people screaming. When he came to the front part, he was confronted by five armed men with two firearms and three knives.

“Cash was robbed and one customer was hit with a firearm as mistakenly thought she is KFC employee. It is reported that the customer sustained an open wound,” a statement read.

“One of the five jumped the counter and took cash from the cash registers,” statement further read.

According to SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, armed robbers left the business premises and drove off with a silver grey Volkswagen sedan with no registration numbers.

The incident was reported to Thabong Police Station and a case of business robbery was registered for further investigation.
