Heinemann: A professional photographer was busy taking photos of her client in a dilapidated building when they were robbed at gun point. Armed robber walked away with expensive iPhones.
On Sunday afternoon, 8 August 2021 at about 15:30, Michelle van Zyl (30) a professional photographer was busy taking photos of her client Chante Willemse (23) at a dilapidated building of Matjhabeng Fire Brigade at Heinemann CBD.
“They were inside the building when an African male person appeared and allegedly drew a handgun, cocked it and pointed at both victims.
He demanded their cellphones and left the scene on foot,” SAPS Spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng revealed to Kasi Voice News.
It is alleged the armed robber stole IPhone 11 and IPhone 12 both valued R27 000 and one pink Digital camera bag containing two camera batteries at a combined value of R4 900, however, the camera was not robbed.
The suspect was wearing a blue overall and black beanie cap.
The incident was reported to local SAPS, members responded instantly to look for this armed robber with the description given but all in vain.
A case of Armed Robbery was registered for further investigation.
