Manhunt launched following the overpowering of truck driver, 14 tyres robbed

The truck driver stopped and parked to ensure all was still in order and was suddenly overpowered by four unknown African men and 14 tyres were stolen.

The 40-year-old driver left Winburg to Senekal on N5 road in a Volvo truck with EC registration numbers.

He decided to stop beside the road 28km from Winburg to check whether the cargo was still in order.

During his inspection, four unknown men appeared out of nowhere, overpowered him and forced him inside the truck.

They robbed cash from his wallet.

At around 04:00, a passing truck stopped by and the rescued the victim. They then discovered that 14 tyres were robbed.

They reported the incident at Winburg Police Station and members registered a case of Theft from motho vehicle for further investigation.
