Operations nab offenders over the weekend

Operations conducted by different Kroonstad SAPS units nabbed more than 48 offenders from Friday, 27 October, to 03 November 2021 in Kroonstad.

Kroonstad SAPS VISPOL dealt with a large number of offenders as they nabbed 37 persons followed by Kroonstad SAPS Detectives with seven more suspects.

Crime Prevention Task Team on the other hand arrested four.

Police arrested suspects on charges that include possession of dangerous weapons; possession of drugs; possession of stolen property; dealing in dagga; stock theft; theft general; murder; corruption; common assault; crime injury; residential burglary; and liquor related offences.

Among the transgressors, three did not comply with COVID-19 regulation of wearing a face mask in public.

Suspects arrested for serious crimes such as murder have appeared at Kroonstad Magistrates’ Court on various dates.

Those arrested for less serious offences received fines.

Fezile Dabi Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Mapulane Mbeloane, aplauded members for ensuring safety at Kroonstad and surrounding district communities where criminal elements are not tolerated.

“My message to criminals is that we deal with any criminal act every day and we will do everything in our power to squeeze the space of criminals in our communities,” concluded Brigadier Mbeloane.
