Intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of five suspects after being found with suspected stolen copper cable.
On Tuesday, 09 November 2021, Fezile Dabi District Task team; TRT; Trio; K-9; and CIG team followed up information received from Eastern Cape Provincial SAPS.
Information stated the suspected usage of a silver Toyota Fortuner to commit crimes in Eastern Cape. The information alleged the vehicle had five occupants, suspected to have been culprits behind these criminal activities.
Members followed up received information and managed to identify the suspected vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered suspected stolen copper cable worth approximately R158 000.
Five suspects aged 25-43 will appear before Sasolburg Magistrate Court on charges of suspected stolen property on Thursday, 11 November 2021.
“We are one organization, as Eastern Cape SAPS truly showed that indeed we have our communities’ best interests at heart. We cannot turn a blind eye whereas perpetrators travel freely from one province to the other, conducting criminal deeds. This should indeed send a strong message that the arm of the law cannot be measured and one will be put behind bars if found guilty,” concluded Brigadier Mapulane Mbeloane
