One lane heading South is opened for traffic flow while the North lane is still closed.
Two trucks without cargo collided on the N1 detour to Koppies in the early hours of the day on Friday, 10 December 2021.
The road was closed and all traffic diverted so to the Kroonstad detour on the Koppies/Heilbron Road. Other traffic was diverted to Vaal Toll Plaza/Vredefort junction.
One driver died on the scene, and another one taken to hospital.
The cause of the accident is still unknown and investigation is still underway.
A case of murder without intention has been registered for further investigation.
