Head on collision was reported in N1 road, between VW Polo and Ford Ranger. Four people died at the scene and four taken to the hospitals.
On Monday night, 15 November 2021, police received a head-on collision report on N1 road.
It is alleged the VW Polo with GP registration was 25km from Winburg towards Ventersburg. The Ford Ranger, with three passangers, towed a trailer.
It is further alleged the Ford Ranger swerved into the lane of the VW Polo and caused a head on collision. The Ford Ranger caught fire the driver burnt to death.
According to the passenger, the driver originates from Kwa-Thema, Springs.
Trio passengers sustained serious injuries; two taken to Winburg hospital and the third one transported to Bongani hospital.
Emergency Medical Services certified the VW Polo driver and his two passengers dead on the scene.
Deceased are 6-year-old girl; one adult African female; and two African males.
A case of Culpable Homicide is been investigated.
