Three people died and two children were seriously injured following a horrific accident that occurred in the N1 road in Ventersburg on Thursday, 06 January.
At about 15:00, there was a gruesome accident between a truck and a sedan vehicle in the N1 road next to Aldam Holiday resort.
The road in N1 had to be closed after the accident and motorists were requested to use alternative routes as the road was closed.
“Three adults were certified dead at the scene and jaws of life had to be used to removed children from the damaged sedan,” said Welkom police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng.
Thakeng said, a case of Culpable Homicide has been registered for further investigation.
