Runaways veld fire reported in Ventersburg road finally contained

The veld fires causing havoc in Ventersburg and Winburg in the N1 road, was contained by the firefighters.

The N1 road had been temporarily closed due to this running veld fires.

Farmers in these precinct had to cut camping wires just to push their livestock into safer pastures.

Farmers are also assisting in trying to extinguish these fires.

In Ventersburg, a head on collision had been reported due to motorists who did not take heed to the instructions of the SAPS and Provincial Traffic Department.

The occupants sustained serious injuries. Few farm houses are affected by these veld fires.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes, more especially those were travellingfrom Kroonstad and Welkom towards Bultfontein. .

Both Station Commanders of Winburg and Ventersburg were at the scenes with their team members to ensure that law and order is maintained.
