Winburg and Ventersburg SAPS along with Provincial Traffic Department held a joint roadblock to ensure police visibility on the N1 road from 15:00-18:00. On Saturday, 08 January 2022.
The focused on drugs; stolen live stock; illegal firearms; unroadworthy vehicles and driving under the influence of liquor with Provincial Traffic Department.
They achieved the following successes during the roadblock :
302 vehicles screened; 462 persons searched; 13 traffic related Offences fines issued valued at R4 400.
During the roadblock, members also conducted awareness on Covid 19 pandemic compliance and Harassment Act.
The N1 road was very busy with traffic as motorists where returning home from holidays.
