Cops track down two suspects wanted for murder of Thabong woman

The police in Thabong have arrested two men in connection with a murder of slain woman, who was brutally killed near Dry Clean store in Rooistern, Thabong, last Saturday, 29 January.

According to the police media liaison officer sergeant Fikiswa Matoti, the Thabong police registered a case of murder and assault after they attended to a complaint that led them to the horrific crime scene on Saturday, last weekend.

On arrival they found a body of a woman in pool of blood, as it is alleged that she was struck with a stone at the back of her head and died on scene.

“It is alleged the 32-year-old deceased was a resident of Thabong,” said sergeant Matoti.

As the cops ran with the investigations, it was discovered that the deceased was having drinks with her friend when an argument ensued between the two over a missing R200 note.

“Other three people were then involved, two males and a lady.

The three followed the two ladies, the victim and her friend until to the scene of crime where they assaulted the friend and the victim was struck with a stone by an unknown male then escaped the scene.

The deceased was certified dead by paramedics who also attended to the incident,” she further revealed.

Two suspects busted with this gruesome murder, will appear before Welkom Magistrate’s Court soon.
