The Thabong Police’s Public Order Policing (POP) Reaction Team member arrested three African males in separate occasions, after members of community tipped the police about drug dealers in Motloi street Thabong and Dagbreek in Welkom, on Monday, 4 April.
The polices went to a house, where they requested permission to conduct a search.
They then found five full Mandrax tablets, five halves Mandrax tablets and one quarter Mandrax tablets, which were in possession of a 32-year-old suspect.
“SAPS members continued with the search and found another suspect found in possession of 14 sachets of CAT drugs and a cash of R490 and he was apprehended, on scen” said Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng.
“In a separate incident occurred on Tuesday, the police were busy with crime combatting in Dagbreek Welkom, when they saw a suspicious looking man and he was approached,” added Thakeng.
“While members were busy searching him, nine sachets of CAT drugs seven, sachets of Crystal Meth, four full Mandrax tablets, six quarters of Mandrax tablets and halves of Mandrax tablets were all found in his possession and this 31-year- old man was arrested,” he added further.
All suspects are set to appear soon before the in Welkom Magistrate Court.
