The Provincial Anti-Gang Unit arrested three alleged drug dealers in separate incidents after receiving intel on Wednesday, 09 February 2022.
Upon members’ arrival at the identified hostel room in Thabong around midday, they requested to search the premises. According to Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, members found 1x medium plastic of crystal meth; 11x small plastic of crystal meth; 2x star mandrax tablets; 49x small wrapped plastic containing rock drug and R300 cash.
A 41-year-old man was arrested for dealing and possession of drugs.
In a separate incident, members approached another house in Rooistene, Thabong that also surfaced in the intel received. The occupants wanted to destroy the drugs, but Provincial Anti-Gang Unit members acted quickly.
From the first suspect at the second house, members found crystal meth; CAT and R355 cash. They then arrested the 32-year-old for possession and dealing in drugs.
The suspect is set to appear before Welkom Magistrate Court facing possession and dealing in drugs.

The third suspect was also found in possession of 183 grams of dagga; three star mandrax tablets and R459 in cash. The 45-year-old suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in dagga and other drugs. He will also soon before Welkom Magistrate Court.
