On Wednesday, 15 September 2021, members of Welkom POP Reaction Team arrested a man with Mandrax, dagga and cash in his possession.
Around 09:50, members of Welkom Public Order Policing Reaction Team were on their routine vehicle patrol and Crime Prevention when they noticed a suspicious activity at house number 92 Golding Street, Bronville. The house was approached and one of the two men fled upon police’s arrival. The second unknown man ran inside the house and was followed. Then members requested to search the property and dagga was found. On thorough search, Mandrax tablets and cash were also found in his possession. Cash that amounts to R160 was also seized.
A 30-year-old man was arrested with 10 halves of Mandrax tablets, 68 boxes of matches containing dagga weighing 500g and a street value of R1000.
This alleged drug dealer will be charged with dealing drugs and will appear before Welkom Magistrates Court on Friday, 17 September 2021.
