Tip-off call received by Welkom K9 Unit Captain on Wednesday, 22 September 2021 leads to arrests of two males.
Iformation included a male person dealing Swazi dagga in Milner Street, Rheederpark Welkom.
This information was followed up instantly and a house was identified and approached. Two males were found and request was made to search the premises. Swazi dagga weighing 5,560 kg was found. Duo suspects, aged 43 and 51 were arrested for possession of dagga. A 51 year old is a Swaziland national.
The two suspects will appear before Welkom Magistrate Court on Monday, 27 September 2021.
District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Major General Lerato Molale, applauded residents of Welkom for trusting the Police with information which led to the seizure of dagga and a Police Captain was also applauded for a job well done.
