Intelligence driven information leads to drug dealers hit with a blow in Meloding

Meloding – On Friday, July 30, 2021 at about 11:15 members of Welkom POP Task Team received a tip-off over a drug dealing operating scheme from various houses in Meloding, Free State.  

Upon arrival at the first house, SAPS Members of Welkom Public Order Policing Task Team found a 27- year-old man in possession of three full star Mandrax tablets with cash that amounts to R110.

The second house was approached, man-aged 30 was found with 27 full star Mandrax taets with cash R310.

When the third house was raided, the police found a 57-year-old man with 32 half star Mandrax tablets wrapped with silver foil, two full Mandrax tablets, four half Mandrax tablets  and three Mandrax powder wrapped with silver foil with cash R290.

The suspects are facing drug dealing and will appear on the 2 August 2021 in Virginia Magistrate Court.

“This gesture to give information to SAPS it is clear that residents of Meloding are sick and tired of drug dealers as drugs are destroying future leaders,” SAPS Spokesperson Stephen Thakeng told Kasi Voice News.

He further added: “When these users are high, heinous crimes are been committed thus we regard these seizures and arrests as a breakthrough.”
