Four people were arrested after they allegedly robbed a 55-year-old woman on Friday, January 19.
The suspects who their identity was undefined appeared before the Sasolburg Magistrate Court today, January 22, facing charges of robbery and kidnapping.
The four accused are in custody and their case was postponed.
Loraine Earle, police spokesperson for the Fezile Dabi district revealed to Kasi Voice News, that the alleged suspects (men) between 47 and 60 were arrested last week in Sasolburg, Zamdela.
“On Thursday, January 18, 2023, the suspects forced a victim into a white Toyota vehicle and and forcefully took the 55-year-old woman’s R500.00.
“Fortunately, the victim managed to write down the car’s registration number, and that’s how it led to a successful arrest of the suspects, following a stellar job by the Fezile Dabi district Infrastructure Intervention Team [Police],” Earle said.
Earle said during the arrest, the police discovered the money and the vehicle that was used in a crime scene was also confiscated.
