Tyla’s self titled debut album makes a stir around the world

Tyla by Tyla has been out for almost a week now and it’s still making waves in the music industry.

Pitchfork, an American online music publication, gave the album a solid score of 8.0/10. It’s no surprise that it quickly became the fastest album by an African artist to reach over 630 million streams in less than a week. Tyla has been racking up the numbers, with a whopping 630,679,876 million streams so far.

Tyla has also entered top 140 artist chart for the first time in the world on Spotify with 31 127 740 monthly listeners making her the highest monthly listened to African artist.

She has also remained in the top 10 on Apple Music Charts in 88 different countries.

Her talent knows no bounds, and it’s not just international recognition she’s receiving. Right here at home, Tyla is making waves as well.

She holds the title of being the only female artist to debut an album with over 400 thousand streams on Spotify in just one day.

She also leads the Metro FM Music Awards nominations for her song Water. She is nominated in categories of Song of the year, Best female artist, Best Music Video, Best Viral Challenge and Artist of the year.

It’s clear that Tyla’s talent and hard work are being recognized and celebrated.
