Welkom police went all down to track down alleged drug dealers as part of their crime prevention duties, and in their successful effort, they nabbed three suspects with large quantities of drugs.
Revealing the news to Kasi Voice News, Lejweleputswa police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng said the police clmaped down two suspects in Mannys, Welkom.
“Officers noticed two people carrying out exchanges in a suspicious manner near a tavern.
“Upon approaching on foot, members saw one African male fleeing, but they managed to apprehend a 35-year-old foreign national who was in possession of two X5 grams crystal meth sachets, two small sachets of crystal meth, 20 rock drugs and R230 cash,” elaborates Thakeng.
Furthermore, a search warrant was requested for the police officers to search a second house of a known drug dealer in Thabong.
A 46-year-old drug lord handed over 36 full mandrax tablets and cash amounting to R760.
In Molai Street still in Thabong, the police found a 35-year-old man in possession of 12 full tablets of mandrax, and was arrested on scene.
All three suspects have been detained and are scheduled to appear in court soon.
