“We found the wanted murder suspect hanging from a tree on Saturday, July 9, just a day after the discovery of a lifeless body of his wife at their workplace,” says Rani.

It is alleged that the couple were working for the same employer as the domestic worker and the gardener.

“The couple reported for duty Friday morning and were left in good terms by their employer,” she explains.

The employer claimed that, she found her domestic worker dead upon her return from work. She added that she found the door unlocked.

“The police were summoned to the scene and a case of murder was open for further investigations,” added Rani.

“On the following day, Saturday, , the wanted suspect was found hanging in a tree at a cousin’s house. The sister of the suspect reported the shocking incident to the police,” Rani revealed.

The police and family do not have any idea on how the deceased ended up hanging in the tree.

“An inquest docket has been opened for further investigations as there is no foul play suspected,” said Rani.

Acting Fezile Dabi district commissioner, Brigadier Mbeloane urged the community in Sasolburg to stand and fight gender based violence.

“Gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence in our household is a problem. Community members who fall victim to this kind of abuse wait until it is late before taking action.

“It is heartbreaking to see both parents passing on to such therefore leaving their children as orphans,” concluded Brigadier Mbeloane.
