Police seek ‘public-intervention’ after woman’s body found flouting in Vaal River!

Viljoensdrif: The Viljoensdrif SAPS needs public assistance to resolve a mysterious case of Viljoensdrif’s woman, after she was brutally killed by perpetrators who are still yet to be apprehended.

This case emanated from a horrific finding of a body which was floating in the Vaal River close to the bridge of R59, in a small town of Viljoensdrif on Sunday, 4 April 2021. 

The police requests community assistance in searching for the next of kin of the deceased victim and tracing of the suspects. 

It is alleged that, members of SAPS attended to the scene, after a news-tip-off was brought to the station.

“The body was retrieved from the river and found to be that of a small female who was completely naked,” a statement read.

“Her hands and feet were tied together, while face was wrapped in a small towel with several visible injuries to the skull.

“She has long black hair but the front part of her head was completely shaven. The body was recovered and taken to Sasolburg mortuary,” a statement further read.

It is further addressed that there was no witness when this incident occurred.

A case of murder was opened for further investigation.

It was revealed during the postmortem that the deceased victim is a white female of Asian descent aged about 25, and 1.6 meters tall and weighs about 65 kg.

According to the autopsy report she was about 20 days in the water and injuries to her skull is due to stoning. 

“A small amount of water that was found in her lungs suggests that she was still alive when thrown in the water,” a statement read.
