Former Miss SA queens Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri are set to make their acting debut on Mzansi Magic‘s new historically-inspired drama series, Queen Modjadji.
Multichoice has announced the cast of the much anticipated story of the Rain Queen, Queen Modjadji, that is produced for them by Rhythm World Productions.
The cast includes well-known talent and fresh new faces.
“The cast was selected based on their ability to speak Khelovedu language and to closely portray the historic figures that form a significant part of the story in the lead up to Queen Modjadji’s reign” read a media statement from Multichoice.
Amongst the cast is two former Miss SAs who will be debuting their acting career.
Shudu Musinda who will portray the character of Muthanoni Mulalo, is another one of the king/queen’s wives from the
VhaVenda royal family.
The other former Miss SA is Ndavi Nokeri who portrays the character of Muthanoni Khensani who is one of the king/queen’s wives from the VhaTsonga royal family.
Among the popular faces is Ngelekanyo Ramulodi who portrays the young Queen Modjadji.
Helen Lebepe, who portrays Raisibi who assists Modjadji to get a view into the real world of her people and grows to become confident.
Thabo Bopape who portrays Mambo Mugodo, who is a supreme king of the Khananga kingdom who is obsessed with becoming the greatest rain maker and is racing against time to fix his mistakes, to restore the balance as required by his ancestors and end a severe drought.
Masutang Rasekele is the fresh face on screen who plays the character of Dzungudini who is the daughter of the Rain King and the mother of Queen Modjadji.
The production for this drama series is underway. And Multichoice is expected to announce more cast as time goes on.
The series will premiere in July this year.
