Manhunt launched for Hennenman’s armed robbers, murderers

The police are on a manhunt to find five suspects implicated in a robbery and murder at a tavern in Hennenman on 21 May 2023. An identikit of one suspect has been compiled.

According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, on the night of the incident, five armed African males entered the premises and instructed the patrons to lie down on the floor.

“An undisclosed amount of cash was also robbed from the cash register,” added Thakeng.

Furthermore, the group then demanded more cash whilst threatening to take one of the female employees with them. The manager attempted pleading with them on the matter, but was fatally shot whilst lying on the floor.

Following the occurrence of these unfortunate events, the police were informed.

Upon arrival at the Buccaneer tavern, the owner immediately showed the police where the deceased lied inside. The Emergency Medical Services personnel certified the man dead on the scene.

“Cases of business robbery and murder were registered for further investigation,” informed Thakeng.
