Given how we often experience an increased number of traffic violations and more crimes taking place on South African roads, the police in the Free State continue to conduct roadblocks in an attempt to curb crimes taking place on the roads.

On Friday afternoon, November 17th, a joint roadblock was held by various police units on the N1 highway, north of Ventersburg.

According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, different police units deployed included the Lejweleputswa VISPOL, the POP, provincial communication and the Department of Home Affairs.

“The operational commander was Brigadier Disebo Cezula,” informed Thakeng.
