A Zimbabwean national is set to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate Court, today, July 27, for murdering a 57-year-old man and for being an illegal immigrant.
Police spokesperson, constable Langa Maselela said that, 37-year-old suspect stabbed the 57-year-old man after he found out that he was romantically involved with his girlfriend.
“The 37-year-old suspect traced the movement of the girlfriend and caught her together with the 57-year-old on their way to work.
“He furthered stabbed the man multiple times with a sharp object and fled on foot, leaving the girlfriend behind the scene,” said Maselela.
The victim was pronounced dead by the Emergency Medical Service team who were called to the scene by the police.
Massive investigation was done and the suspect was arrested on the same day.
Police also urged citizen who might have witnessed the scene to contact send an anonymous tip-off to MySAPS app.
