The Bloemfontein K9 team arrested a pair of African males for dealing in dagga on Monday, 28 March, in Grassland, Phase 2, near Bloemfontein.
According to Mangaung-Metro police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane, the K9 team was patrolling their identified drug posts in Bloemspruit. Then they received information about a house where dagga was sold.
The team visited the given address and found two African males at the house. They requested to search the property and received permission.
During the search, they found a red bag hidden in the room containing two packages of dried leaves.
After finding the hidden stashes, police interrogated the suspects. They cooperated and voluntarily led the police to a shack dwelling in Khayelitsha which they used as store room.
“At the store room, the police found 12 more packages of compressed dagga and 20L container of dagga,” added Covani.
As a result, the police arrested duo suspects aged 28 and 32, and are also foreign nationals and appeared before Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 30 March 2022.
