Following intel receival, the Visible Policing (VISPOL) commander, Captain Abram George led the Bronville police team to find suspects wanted for double murders in Bronville.
The team followed up the information received on Friday, 11 March, and ended up at a house in Extension 21. Upon arrival, the police found a male person in possession of an unlicensed firearm, one magazine and 12 live ammunitions.
Whilst in the neighbourhood, the police arrested three other suspects. The four arrested foreigners aged 21, 27, 28 and 49, did not have proper documents to be in South Africa.
According to Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, all suspects will face possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunitions.
“They will be linked to murders committed during February and March 2022 in Bronville,” added Thakeng.
Involved police officers included warrant officers John Bontes and Alfred Fontein, Sergeant Alvaro Visagie, Constables Lebohang Mafoso, Thabang Lehloka, Asakhe Zwelinjani and Sydwell Lottering.
Lejweleputswa District Commissioner, Major General Lerato Molale, applauded Bronville residents for trusting the police with such sensitive information.
“My appreciation also goes to the Visible Policing team for responding swiftly to information and effecting arrests,” added Molale.
The major general concluded by emphasising that the police force would continue to leave no room for criminals.
