With the police investigation into the disappearance of Maria Moyane ongoing, her family and friends have joined the desperate search for the teenager.
Maria Moyane, a 16-year-old learner who went missing on her way to Mosala Secondary School, has not been found yet.
Her mother, Uzaura Moyane, who lives in Nyakallong, Allanridge, stated that she last saw her on February 12, 2024, in the early hours of morning at 6am, when she was heading to school.
She began searching for her everywhere, including her friends and relatives’ places, but her efforts were fruitless.
According to Lejweleputswa police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng, Uzaura reported her child missing last week, February 14 at the Allanridge Police Station.
“We have initiated a search in Odendaalsrus and Welkom; however, there have been rumors that she
left for an unknown location in the Gauteng Province,” said Thakeng.
Should anyone have the information to trace her, Detective Constable Thapelo Mosuang of Allanridge Detective Services can be contacted at 079 682 7117, Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or share information via the MySAPS app anonymously.
