Search for a missing man is ongoing in Liebenbergsvlei River

Bohlokong Police and Search and Rescue K9 Unit are continuing to search for a young man suspected of stealing at a house in the area. This comes after he was allegedly kidnapped by eight people on Monday, 20 November in an apparent mob justice-related incident.

According to police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring, the alleged missing thug was allegedly seen by his mother on the afternoon of the same day, his mother was also confronted by two women and six men who alleged that her son stole from their property.

Mophiring further added that through further investigation, it was revealed that the young man was seen hiding inside the Liebenbergsvlei River on a tree.

“The Search and Rescue team was called and conducted a preliminary search without success,” said Mophiring.

Mophiring said the search is still continuing near the river, a case of kidnapping is being investigated.
