The Welkom K9 Unit has arrested a suspected drug dealer in Bronville on Wednesday, November 14th.
According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the police received intel about drug dealing in Bronville and operational operationalised the information.
Upon arriving in Bronville, the police approached a house in Golding street and requested to search the premises.
“During the search, 601 full suspected Mandrax tablets and four halves were found and seized. The total tablets found have an estimated street value of R48 000. Cash amounting to R2 170 was also seized,” informed Thakeng.

As a result, a 32-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs. He will appear before the Welkom Magistrates Court today.
The acting Lejweleputswa District commissioner, brigadier Envor Solomon, praised Bronville residents for trusting the police with such sensitive information which led to an arrest and seizure. Welkom K9 Unit was also applauded for their swift reaction.
