A bending season does not mean the end

Everybody goes through a bending season in their lives. A season when nothing goes right for them.

A season of pain, a season of stagnation, a season where you feel discouraged because you feel trapped in a fathomless abyss, and you cannot seem to find a way out no matter how hard you try.

You seem to be walking through thorns and it is difficult to continue because pain is etched in your heart. After overcoming thorns, you go through another hurdle that seems impossible to overcome.

Your life seems to be an endless dark alley and you have given up hope of ever seeing light at the end of your dark alley.

One day I invited a lady to church and tears started rolling down her cheeks, she told me that she will never set foot in church ever again, I became curious and asked her the reason behind such a claim.

She reiterated that God failed to save her loved one after she had prayed earnestly for her healing, she further added that she went through endless difficulties, but God didn’t come through for her. ‘

I tried to convince her otherwise, but she wanted nothing to do with God.

She was going through a bending season. She needed someone to straighten her up.

She needed someone to help her revisit the love of God and to remind her about the Word of God.

Sometimes we go through so many problems, and we end up forgetting that God is able and that there is nothing impossible with him.

A bending season is not meant to stay forever, it will come and go. It does not mean the end.

You are not supposed to be drowned by it. Throwing in the towel should not be an option.’

Staying angry at God and wanting nothing to do with him should not be an option.

Succumbing to a bending season should be the last thing on your mind. Some people have gone off the rails because of a bending season and it is hard to find their way back to God.

They have allowed their situation to come between God and them.

Not everyone is able to withstand a bending season, but they need someone to uncoil them by reminding them of the promises of God.

Sometimes when Christians go through difficulties they tend to overlook the Word of God.

It is as if the Word of God has suddenly lost its power.

They need someone to reach out to them and help them recount God’s promises and what he has already
done for them and to also remind them that whatever they are going through is not impossible to overcome.

1 Thessalonians 5 verse 11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

God encourages us to be there for one another and to build each other up. If you are already doing it well done, if not, you can start now. There are certain things that we cannot overcome on our own.

The world would be a better place if we cared enough to reach out to others in their bending season.

Sometimes all a person needs is a shoulder to cry on or a willing ear to listen as they vent about their bending season.

Let us care enough to be there for one another, make it a habit to check up on people.

Some people are going through a lot, and they do not have anyone to talk to hence some resort to suicide.

If you are going through a bending season and you are feeling overwhelmed seek help, speak to a loved one. Whatever you are going through will pass, it is just a season.

Remember God promised to never leave you nor forsake you, so chin up, all will be well.

Shalom.
