Lejweleputswa police were out in full force in the larger parts of the district to intensify public safety and sports activities coordinated to empower young people.
Police officers from various parts of the district, observed the 46th Anniversary of Youth Day in a series of events, including the clean-up operations.
In Bultfontein, Virginia and Hertzogville police officers commemorated the youth day through a stop and search operation.
While in Hennenman, Welkom and in Ventersburg police officers hosted a series of multiple sports activities for youth.

Yesterday, SAPS officials were on a search operation in a local farm in Virginia.
The purpose of the operation was to prevent stock theft, possession of illegal firearms, illegal hunting, theft of copper cable and damage to infrastructure.
Four vehicles were stopped and searched, nine people were searched.
