The Matjhabeng municipality mayor Thanduxolo Khalipa met with police officers based in the corridors of Lejweleputswa district areas, during the parade organised to lower high crime rates happening in the district.
Lejweleputswa has been described as one of the district in the province with excessive levels of crime, which includes amongst others: destruction of infrastructure, copper cable, drugs, prevent kidnappings and business robberies.
Khalipa was addressing a mob of the Welkom POP officers in Riebeeckstad, where he advised police officers to actively take charge of their work and to combat criminal elements.

In the parade that was held there were police officers, officers from provincial and the Matjhabeng Traffic officials.
This follows after the parade was held on Friday, 1 April, by Colonel Pule Solo where he guided fellow police officers on the procedure of the operation that is about to take place.
