Youth day events to take centre stage in Welkom with variety of sports activities

Sport as defined by some athletes is a way our mind could relax and we could keep our body in a good shape.

Lejwe Health and Fitness took an initiative this year, to commemorate youth day with variety of sports activities.

In partnership with several organisations and organs of state such as Lovelife, Childline,  South African Police Services (SAPS), department of Health and department of sport, arts, culture and recreation the 16th of June will be celebrated in style to empower youth.

The sports will be played as one of initiatives to stop crime since the crime in the country continues to rise according to Minister of police, Bheki Cele.

Various sports activities that will take centre stage, includes of netball for under 15 years, soccer for under 17 years and rugby for under 14 years.

In a poster circulating on social media sports activities that are open for participation are inclusive of: aerobics, tyre bootcamp and action relay.

To make this initiative to be available to everyone, the admission was made to be free for anyone who wishes to partake.

Teams that wish to partake will have to register by tomorrow, 10 June and may contact Lerato Moahloli at 061 445 4429 or Edgar at 082 693 5778.

The event will therefore take place in Unitas Secondary School at 10 am but teams will meet up at 7am as the gates will be opened by that time.
