A 16-year-old teenager has been arrested by authorities, after she was found in possession of a large quantity of drugs worth at a house in Bronville, the South African Police Service (SAPS) said on Thursday.
Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng said the police attended to a crime scene, after the police unit’s crime intelligence received a tip-off over drug operation.
“A 16-year-old girl was found in possession of 25 suspected mandrax tablets drugs. The drugs valued at R2000 were seized and the suspect was arrested,” concluded Thakeng.

In another incident, Thakeng said a 36-year-old manager of a business selling curtains together with his employees were robbed at a gunpoint by four suspects in Welkom.
“Suspects fled away with five cellphones of employees, 32cm Telefunken TV, Wi-Fi router, DVD decoder and cash,” Thakeng said.
He added that a case of robbery was filed by the Welkom police station.
While the manhunt for the alleged four suspects has been intensified, Thakeng said the police are working tirelessly to find the culprits.
Thakeng furthermore said that, a 53-year-old man Toyota RunX driver was arrested after he was found in possession of Glock gas pistol and decoder by Welkom unit when they were doing routine visible policing.


Thakeng said the arrest of the two suspects was made by Welkom K9 unit on separate incidents Wednesday, 29 June.
Two suspects, a 16-year-old girl who was found smuggling in drugs and the 53-year-old man are set to appear before the Virginia and Welkom Magistrate Court for charges of business robbery and dealing with mandrax drugs.
