As part of reinforcing township economy and tackling skills enhancement, Lejweleputswa offices will house a film studio to accommodate local television series.
The Free State Executive Council led by Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela converged at Lejweleputswa municipal offices, on Wednesday, 31 August 2021, where a film studio is situated.
Taking a premeditated visit to assess latest developments with the undergoing construction of this facility, Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela said this initiative will be a boost for the creative sector.
“The youth will now have an opportunity to have a platform where they will display their creativity as this film studio, will assist them to shoot their movies, dramas and possibly series,” said Ntombela.
“The Free State province has energetic and innovative youth. This initiative will help our youth to make a name for themselves,” she added.

The Premier added that, with unemployment at high rate, this will be an opportunity for job creation.
“What we often see on our television screens is a finished product. Behind the scenes, a lot of work takes place. Our youth will have an opportunity as make up artists, camera operators, video editors etcetera,” Premier Ntombela said.

She concluded by saying that it is her wish that big production companies will make use of the studios, in the process, boosting tourism in the province.
