The esteemed partnership between the Free State government and Mechanical, Engineering and Related Services SETA (merSETA) is blossoming in fruition as both governmental entities join hands firmly.
Free State Premier Sefora Ntombela announced that the youth programme to be table down by the merSETA, will play a prominent role, as it will unpack educational items and to steer skills transferring.
Ntombela, will launch a training programme funded by merSETA for out of school youth in the province.
The merSETA which is one of the 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), was established to promote skills development in terms of the Skills Development Act.
“Skills Development remains one of the key priority areas with a potential to drive sustainable economic development,” said Ntombela.
“The Free State Provincial Government recognizes that there is a lot of untapped potential in the province which needs to be harnessed to fully blossom,” she added.
“Government also appreciates the importance of providing the youth of our province with the necessary skills which will help them particularly in the job market.
This training program therefore is very important”, addressed premier Ntombela.
