A 64-year-old man is set to appear before the Verkeerdevlei Magistrate Court facing charges of attempted murder and three counts of assaults.
Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng said, the police attended the scene on the late hours of yesterday, August 2, following a tip-off by concerned residents over the family hostage drama.
Upon their arrival, they found a 53-year-old Sello Mokhosi stabbed with half of the big scissor in his stomach.
It is alleged that Mokhosi was quicky rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The 36-year-old daughter of the suspect and two grandchildren aged between 13 and 15 were held hostage.
The suspect the flee the scene afterwards.
“Tactical Response members managed to gain entry into the shack house and rescued three victims from the elderly man.
“The three victims were also stabbed with same half part of the big scissor,” said Thakeng.
Thakeng says the police’s Tactical team managed to arrest the 64-year-old man.
